All welcome at the 2017 Scottish Equine Welfare conference

Together for Equines – Scottish Welfare Conference 2017

Biosecurity, enforcement, legislation and education are just some of the subjects that will all fall under the spotlight at the 2017 Scottish Equine Welfare conference hosted jointly by BHS Scotland, The Donkey Sanctuary, World Horse Welfare and Scottish Government on Friday 28 April 2017 at Howe Equestrian Centre in Fife. This day long event, chaired by Professor Derek Knottenbelt highlights the most immediate challenges and initiatives the Scottish equestrian industry deals with as we work to improve the lives of all our equines from the donkeys to the draughts.

All are welcome, and this event is CPD for local authority enforcers.

The days talks will include:

Horses in our Hands: Roly Owers, Chief Executive, World Horse Welfare

One Health: The importance of biosecurity to humans and equines – Dominic Mellor, Professor of Epidemiology and Veterinary Public Health, University of Glasgow

How Equines Use Shelter: Faith Burden, Head of Research & Pathology, The Donkey Sanctuary
