Shaunie Greig claims second Championship Final ticket

Qualifiers took place over two days at Morris Equestrian Centre recently for the 2019 Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic and saw riders from all over the UK come forward with the hopes of securing one of the top three qualifying places. The final will take place at SouthView Centre in Cheshire on 6th – 7th April 2019.

Shaunie Greig from Aberdeenshire claimed her second Championship Final ticket with a win in Saturday’s qualifier on board Linda Billington’s 18 year-old bay mare, Quilitymaes Z. The three qualifying tickets were claimed by the only three riders able to jump clear around Ian Clark’s first round track.

With Anoushka Mauree faulting in the first jump-off when the second part of the final combination fell, it was left to Elsi Jacques and Shaunie Greig to battle it out in the final jump-off. It was Shaunie who came out on top, whilst Elsi and Danielle Piecha’s Westward Sunshine finished in second place.
